BIOSPHERE 2 UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA

BIOSPHERE 2 UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA

B2 is the largest environmental chamber in the world allowing simulations of earth science experiments at a scale unattainable anywhere else. Visitors are drawn by the lore of the ‘biospherons,’ who were locked inside as part of an experiment 30 years ago. To change the visitor paradigm, the new experience and master plan link science observation with hands on experiments as visitors explore the biomes.

This seeing/doing model as the foundation of the new visitor experience will allow visitors to understand the earth science and research behind climate change.

“Walt worked with us to conceive of a new visitor experience integrated into the iconic facility of Biosphere2 — respecting its current role as a U of Arizona research facility and it’s past role as one of the great experiments of the 20th century. His ideas were instrumental in helping the University to understand the site’s potential as a storytelling destination.”
